1. Acceptance of Terms

By using our services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding agreements. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform.

2. User Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and complete information when registering or submitting rescue cases.
• Do not misuse the platform, including submitting false data or impersonating others.
• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential.

3. NGO Verification and Data Usage

All listed organizations are verified by our team. We reserve the right to remove or blacklist any NGO, shelter, rescuer, or individual that do not meet our transparency or authenticity standards. Information such as rescue details, treatment reports, media, and documents are stored securely and may be displayed to build public trust.

4. Donation Process

Donate Smartly allows donors to support verified NGOs. Donations are voluntary. Tax benefits, if any, are provided directly by the organization, not Donate Smartly.

5. Monthly / Recurring Donations (Subscriptions)

Donate Smartly offers an option to support organisations through recurring monthly donations using subscription-based payments facilitated by our payment partner, Razorpay.

• By opting for a monthly donation, you authorize Razorpay to automatically debit the selected amount from your chosen payment method at regular intervals.
• As part of payment method verification, Razorpay may initiate a small one-time charge (typically ₹1–₹5). This is a standard mandate verification step and is controlled by the payment gateway.
• The first full donation amount will be debited on the billing date shown in Razorpay's payment interface.
• Monthly donation subscriptions are valid for a fixed duration (currently one year) unless renewed manually by the donor.

Donate Smartly does not control the exact debit timing, payment method rules, or mandate behavior, which are governed by Razorpay and the donor's bank or payment provider.

6. Virtual Adoption

There are many compassionate people who wish to help animals in need but are unable to adopt them physically due to personal or practical constraints.

Virtual Adoption is a meaningful way to bridge that gap.

Through this initiative, users can virtually adopt a rescued animal from a registered organisation or shelter listed on Donate Smartly, including community animals as well as abandoned pets, by contributing a fixed monthly amount.

This contribution is intended to support the animal’s essential needs such as safe shelter, nutritious daily meals, maintenance of the shelter, staff involved in daily care, and basic medical care.

Virtual adoption does not confer legal ownership of the animal. The animal remains under the care, responsibility, and ownership of the respective organisation or shelter.

When you choose to virtually adopt, you are becoming a part of that animal’s care journey. As part of this initiative:

• You may receive video updates once or twice a month, depending on the organisation’s resources and operational capacity.
• If you wish, you may request a video call (typically once a month) with the organisation to see the animal.
• You may visit the shelter during designated visiting hours to meet and spend time with the animal.

All updates, communication, and interactions related to the virtually adopted animal are managed by the respective organisation or shelter. Donate Smartly acts only as a platform connecting donors and organisations.

Donate Smartly shall not be held responsible if updates are delayed, limited, or not received from the organisation. In such cases, users may directly contact the respective organisation. Users may also contact Donate Smartly support to request assistance or to cancel their subscription.

Virtual adoption contributions are designed to cover essential recurring costs. They do not include major or advanced veterinary procedures such as surgeries or emergency treatments. In such situations, the respective organisation may independently raise additional funds from the public.

Organisations may also receive external support such as sponsored meals or donations from other contributors. Such support may be used for all animals in the shelter, including those that are virtually adopted.

In certain situations, such as if the animal is no longer under the care of the organisation due to adoption, recovery, or death, the donor will be informed. The donor may choose to:

• Continue their support by virtually adopting another animal, or
• Discontinue the subscription as per the applicable cancellation process.

Contribution amounts are determined based on estimated costs of food, shelter, staffing, and basic care. These amounts may be revised from time to time due to factors such as inflation or changes in operational expenses.

Any changes to the contribution amount will be communicated in advance via WhatsApp, email, or other registered contact channels. Users may choose to continue or cancel their subscription before such changes take effect.

Virtual adoption is intended to provide consistent care, comfort, and dignity to animals in need. While organisations strive to maintain transparency and care standards, specific outcomes or timelines cannot be guaranteed.

7. Location-Based Services

Certain features of the Donate Smartly platform may require access to your location. By enabling location permissions on your browser or device, you agree to let us use your location to provide improved services. You can manage or revoke location access in your browser or device settings at any time.

8. Intellectual Property

All features, content, designs, logos, branding, and source code of the Donate Smartly platform are the exclusive property of Donate Smartly, unless otherwise stated. Unauthorized use, reproduction, distribution, or modification of any part of the platform, including its source code or design elements, is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts in case of misuse, fraud, or policy violation.

10. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for direct or indirect damages arising from the use of the platform or the conduct of listed NGOs.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.

12. Communication & Updates

By using our platform or supporting organisations through donations or virtual adoption, you agree that Donate Smartly or registered organisation or shelter listed on Donate Smartly may send you periodic communications, including newsletters, rescue updates, and photos/videos of supported animals via WhatsApp, email, or other registered contact channels.

13. Donor Submitted Media

Certain features of the platform, such as meal sponsorships, virtual adoptions or dedication initiatives, may allow donors to voluntarily upload photographs, names, messages, or related content for acknowledgement purposes.

By submitting such content, you confirm that you own the content or have the necessary permission to share it, and you grant Donate Smartly and the respective organisation or shelter a non-exclusive right to use, display, publish, and share the submitted content on websites, social media platforms, thank-you posts, awareness campaigns, newsletters, or related communications related to the initiative.

Donate Smartly reserves the right to refuse or remove any content that is inappropriate, misleading, offensive, or violates applicable laws or rights of third parties.
