1. Information We Collect

• NGOs / Organizations / Shelters: Name, registration number, PAN, bank details, legal documents, photos/videos, rescue and treatment records, staff details, and verification documents.
• Donors: Name, phone, email, donation amount, PAN/Aadhaar (if required), and communication preferences.
• Informers (rescue reporters): Name, contact info, ID details, signed consent forms, and rescue incident data.
• Automatically Collected Data: IP address, device/browser info, page views, cookies, analytics (with user consent).

2. How We Use Your Information

• Verify and onboard NGOs and shelters
• Manage rescue, treatment, and donation data
• Provide transparency reports to donors
• Improve our services and platform experience
• Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

3. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:

• Verification partners for onboarding
• Payment gateways (such as Razorpay) for one-time and recurring donation processing, mandate verification, and subscription management.
• Government or law enforcement when legally required
• Cloud service providers like Microsoft Azure (data storage/security)

4. Subscription & Recurring Payment Data

When you choose to make a monthly recurring donation, we collect and process additional information required to set up and manage your subscription through our payment partner Razorpay.

• Subscription-related identifiers such as Razorpay customer ID, subscription ID, plan ID, mandate status, and billing cycle details.
• Payment method information (UPI, card, or other supported modes) is processed securely by Razorpay. Donate Smartly does not store your card, UPI, or bank details.
• A small mandate verification charge (typically ₹1–₹5) may be initiated by Razorpay to activate recurring payments. This is controlled by the payment gateway.

This information is used strictly for managing recurring donations, billing cycles, subscription status, compliance, and transaction transparency.

5. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary for legitimate purposes or legal obligations. Users may request deletion subject to legal constraints. Subscription and transaction records may be retained for audit, compliance, and financial reporting purposes even after a subscription is cancelled.

6. Security Measures

We use HTTPS, role-based access control, secure backups, and Microsoft Azure cloud security to protect your data. In case of a breach, users will be notified in accordance with the law.

7. Your Rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent at any time by contacting us using the information below. You may also request cancellation of recurring donation subscriptions by contacting our support team, subject to billing cycle timelines.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Location Information

We may request access to your precise or approximate location through your device or browser, with your explicit permission. This information helps us provide features such as:

• Showing nearby NGOs or rescue centers
• Auto-filling address details when submitting rescue information
• Improving user experience and services

Location data is collected only when you allow it, and is used strictly for service-related purposes. You can revoke access at any time through your device or browser settings.
